Christmas Concert

Charlotte had her first Christmas concert tonight and she did great; smiling, waving, and singing!

In this last video you can see just how many kids there were and you can only imagine how many people were in the audience!  This was the first year they combined both Alfred and Lyman Elementary grades K-2 into one concert and I hope it's the last!

Dear Santa...

I saw Dear Santa, I can explain online and I immediately thought of my darling little Caroline!
Oh sure there are times when she is happy, sweet, funny, and lovable, but she sure can have attitude! She had a tantrum the other night for a good 30 minutes because I wouldn't give her another dose of medicine (yeah she's probably the only kid who likes to take medicine).  She does not like the word no and if she doesn't want to do something, like a wear a hat outside when it is 15 degrees out, then she WON'T!  And she's already started saying, "I don't like you mommy!"  Ahhhhhh, terrible twos!!!!

 This is not staged.  She gave me a hard time about wearing the outfit and taking pictures. "Mama no pictures, I fine," she says.  But I want a picture, so this is what I got!  Someday, I will fondly look back on this post :)

She has a lot of explaining to do!

She said she wanted to paint so sticking with the holiday theme I drew a Christmas tree and she painted it using a fork.

Then it was all hands!

 Once the green paint dried, she made ornaments using dot markers.

She was pretty proud of her tree!

 After dinner, I introduced Elf on the Shelf aka Miss Kringle (Charlotte said she learned the name from a movie).  

 Thank you Auntie Christine, the girls are going to love it!

Sick day

Charlotte came home from school yesterday and headed straight for the couch (that never happens).  She went to bed early and was up during the night throwing up.  Well, this morning was no better.  No appetite, throwing up what little she had in her belly, and tired, but no fever.  Let's hope this is just a stomach bug.

 She said she wanted to do a craft so we started to make a Christmas card until she had to...well you know.  I told her to go and rest on the couch and I'm going to bring in some firewood.  When I was done I found her like this...
