Pastry Ornaments

Charlotte made ornaments from pie crust today. 

She helped make the pie crust by stirring the ingredients.  While the dough was in the refrigerator, we ventured outside to enjoy the warm temperatures, mud, and rain puddles!

 After an hour, we went back inside to take the dough out of the refrigerator.  Charlotte helped me roll the dough and cut out the ornament shapes using cookie cutters. 

We used parsley flakes and paprika to decorate

We also used nuts and rice for decoration.  We then brushed the ornaments with egg yolk and put them in the oven at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.  After they cooled, we hung a couple on the tree. 

By accident, I took this picture using a slow shutter speed, but I thought it came out pretty cool!

Christmas Tree Ornament

I used a green scouring pad to cut out a christmas tree and Charlotte decorated it with pom poms.  Very colorful!

Loves Elmo

She's dancing to the music at the end of the show and what a great show it was! 

We went to Sesame Street Live today and had a great time.  She doesn't watch t.v. so she's never seen Sesame Street, but she knows Elmo.  He's on her bath mat!  I was curious to see her reaction today.  She was mesmerized by seeing all the Sesame Street characters dance, move, talk, and sing.  The dancing at the end of the show was the most she moved the entire time!

 But she likes the bus!

After the show and lunch, we went to visit Santa at the Maine Mall.

Our Christmas Tree

Instead of getting a tree already groomed and trimmed to size, we did something different this year.  We went to a tree farm in Limerick where the trees were left to grow.  We found a tree we liked and cut the top off to the size we wanted.  It is the perfect tree for us!

First Ear Infection

I took Charlotte to the pediatrician this morning because she still had the hives (and now we know why), a bad cough, and had trouble sleeping last night.  The diagnosis was an ear infection, but she is on the path to a quick recovery!
