First Birthday Celebration!

This is a very special gift handcrafted by Pat. This rocking horse is made from cherry and is truly one of a kind.

Wasn't too impressed with the chocolate cupcake, but loved the buttercream frosting and of course the ice cream!

Charlotte's birthday party theme was pink and green polka dots. It was an amazing day spent with our wonderful family and friends.

A Day At The Park

Ahh, the simple things

After our morning errands, Charlotte and I headed over to Deering Oaks in Portland. It was a beautiful day for a nice long stroll through the park and some playground fun!

Charlotte enjoyed her wagon ride around the yard, swinging in the garage, and a nice long stroller ride. We are so looking forward to Summer!

Celebrating Grammy's Birthday!

She didn't waste no time going for the menu! What is with the tongue sticking out?!

After swimming lessons on Saturday, we went for lunch at the Olive Garden to celebrate my mom's birthday!

Eleven Months Old!

A few highlights from this past month:

• Charlotte has become very good at walking while holding onto our hands and is exploring all of the kitchen cabinets!
• She can stand on her own for up to 20 seconds
• She is eating more of what we eat and will only eat a certain few of the purees
• While she likes when we play peek-a-boo with her, she also enjoys being the one doing the peek-a-boo. She finds it to be quite funny and so do we!
• She has started to associate clapping with patty cake
• She understands the word "no" and will obey most times

Pat built this toy cubicle for Charlotte's toys. Now on to the next project...

Swim Class

Charlotte's first swim "lesson" was today and she loved it! There were toys, songs, and lots of splashing!

Ten Months Old!

Nine Month Appt.

Charlotte had her 9 month physical today and she is in perfect health. She weighs 20lbs 3oz (70th percentile) and is 27 inches long (25th percentile).

She has two top teeth coming through for a total of four. She has learned how to clap and is doing it ALL the time. So cute!!

Perfect blue eyes!

Charlotte had an eye exam today and she passed with flying colors! She didn't like the eyedrops, but other than that she was a good little patient!

Poor baby!

Charlotte has had a runny, stuffy nose for the past few days, but has been sleeping, eating and acting normal. Last night she woke up at 11, which surprised me because she has been sleeping 11-12 hours straight through the night. Anyway, last night when she woke she felt very warm so I took her temperature but it was normal. As I was rocking her back to sleep, she threw up all over me. She's never thrown up before and has been a very healthy baby. After that she went back to sleep and woke up at 8am and was all smiles! I'm thinking it was something she ate that upset her stomach, but not sure what.

Nine Months Old!

My how she has grown! This past month:

• Charlotte is saying "mama" and "dada"
• Responds to her name
• She is rolling over from belly to back
• Scoots across our wood floors
• She loves finger foods and feeding herself. She will eat just about anything, including prunes! She has had puffs, cheerios, toast, cheese, yogurt, banana, and pasta. She has started to use a pincer grasp when eating. She also likes to take a drink of water and spit some out. What fun!
• Favorite things include playing ball, holding and turning pages of books, music, dancing, being outside, riding in the front of the shopping cart, raspberries on the belly, bathtime, kisses from our dog, eating, and let's not forget napkins and the remote control!
