Green beans!

A big dislike!!
What you can't see (because of my big hand) is that she was sticking out her tongue every time I tried to feed her!

Sledding down the "big mountain!"

Charlotte refers to the snow plowed bank as the "big mountain."  She loves climbing it and standing up high on the mountain.  Today, she enjoyed sledding down it many, many times!

She loves the snow and is going to be very upset tomorrow when it all gets washed away! :(

Spin Art Heart Cards

Charlotte made these cards for special people on Valentine's Day.  I love that everything about them were her ideas.

First time cutting out hearts and she did get a great job!

Adding glitter glue instead of paint for a sparkly effect

Decorating the card

"One dot for each card."

Good job writing

Don't stick beads up your nose!

I hope Charlotte learned her lesson this morning.  All I know is one minute we were snuggling in bed and the next she is telling me there is a bead up her nose!  I thought she was kidding until I shined a flashlight and saw a small green bead lodged pretty far up, so far that I knew tweezers wouldn't work.  So we spent the next couple hours trying to get it out.  But how do you successfully do so with a squirmy child who thinks everything is going to hurt, ugh!  My first thought was getting her to blow her nose, but that didn't work so Pat got out the vacuum cleaner.  Still no success.  I tried things to make her sneeze, including pepper which ended up getting in her eye which led to a round of tears.  So, I went to my trusted friend, Google, and I learned of an approach similar to CPR.  I blocked the unaffected nostril and blew into her mouth.  I did this repeatedly, but it wasn't working.  Finally, Pat took some pepper and rubbed it on the end of her nose and when she snorted it popped out!  Excitement and relief filled the room!  Thank God a trip to the ER had been avoided!

Tissue Paper Stained Glass Hearts

Beautiful Valentine's Day decorations!

To make these, start by tearing up pieces of tissue paper.
I secured a piece of contact paper to the floor sticky side up.  Charlotte covered the entire sheet with the tissue paper.

Once it was all covered, I laid another piece of contact paper over the tissue paper to seal it. Then, I cut out some hearts and Charlotte stuck them to our glass door.

Baby, It's Cold Outside...

Caroline ~ 7 months

A few updates from this past month:
Rolling from stomach to back.  Moves to where she wants to go by rolling and sliding backwards.
Started solids and slowly getting better and eating more.  Her favorites are bananas and apples.
Pat claims she has said "Dada."  I have yet to hear it!
Completely sitting on her own and enjoys sitting and playing with her big sister.
Loves to be tickled by her big sister and will give you a BIG smile every time you play peek-a-boo.

Snowman Puzzles

Number sequence

Matching the number to the written word was a little harder, so she color matched and we worked on number word recognition

Pretend Play ~ Doctor and Patient

Charlotte provided excellent medical care and Caroline was such a good patient, at one point she was even laughing at her silly big sister!

Snow Painting

We filled spray bottles with water, added food coloring, and went outside to add some color to the snow!

Mixing colors
A turkey baster works well too!

Indoor Ice Skating

She's been saying that she wants to go ice skating!
I wrapped sheets of wax paper around her feet with an elastic band and she "skated" all around our living room floor.
Sometimes the easy, cheap things provide the most FUN!

"A little slippery!"
