Happy Half Birthday!!

This past Saturday we had professional pictures done at Wolf Neck Woods State Park in Freeport. This is just one of the many GREAT shots! I'll post more when I get the CD later this week.
Charlotte is laughing a lot more. She is sitting independently and her first tooth has started poking through. It took a couple weeks, but she is now eating solids like a champ! She has had bananas, avocado, pears, sweet potatoes and squash. Of course, she likes anything we give her!

Charlotte's cold symptoms were short lived. She woke up Friday morning feeling fine. I am also happy to say that she has been sleeping a lot better.

'Tis the season

Charlotte has her first cold. She has a runny rose and is congested. I hope that's all it ends up being.

Solids!

Homemade rice cereal. I put organic brown rice in the blender and then on the stove with water and breastmilk and there you have it!
This look says it all. Could I get some flavor, please!?!?

We started Charlotte on rice cereal this morning. She did OK! Can't wait to try veggies and fruits.

Change of heart

I do not agree with Dr. Ferber and letting them Cry It Out. Last night after some crying, I rocked Charlotte to sleep and she slept until 3. I fed her and she went back down until 7:30. I think I'll stick to comforting my baby to sleep! I feel that she will sleep better when she is developmentally ready.

SLEEP!

The past couple weeks, Charlotte has been waking up 2-3 times at night to nurse. It wasn't that big of a deal because she would eat and then go right back to sleep. Well, last night was a little different. She would not go down in her crib. Every time I tried (which was at least 6 or 7 times), she would wake up and cry. I would pick her up and she went right back to sleep. I finally gave in which means we spent the night in the rocking chair. After that I said no more. She should be sleeping better.
Needless to say, we are going to see how well the Ferber method works. Basically, after our bedtime routine I will put Charlotte to bed awake and let her soothe herself to sleep, which will consist of crying, crying and more crying (ugh!!). We have our earplugs ready! After a few nights, she should learn to fall asleep on her own without me having to feed and rock her every night. I'll keep you posted!
