Borax Crystal Snowflakes

These snowflakes came out so pretty and Charlotte thought they were "so cool!"  Next time, we'll experiment with different colors and shapes.
We started yesterday by making a snowflake shape from a white pipe cleaner.  We tied one end of a string to the snowflake and the other end to a pencil.
We filled the mason jar with boiling water and added borax.  3 tablespoons per 1 cup of water.

Charlotte loves to add food coloring and see the water change color.

Drop the snowflake in making sure it doesn't touch the jar and is completey submerged.

Let sit overnight.

Take them out in the morning and be amazed.

Hang them in your window or on your tree.
